The CPQ Devbar is a browser extension that provides some basic shortcuts and helpers for Oracle CPQ/BigMachines developers/admins. Everything is free to use, but requires an admin login access ("FullAccess") to an Oracle CPQ Site.
Really important - This add-on is NOT created or supported (yet!) by Oracle Corporation. It is my free-time fun project that I created purely for admin/developer ease and efficiency. It is not a substitute to manual checks or testing. Also, I do this because I enjoy doing it, and don't intend to sell or make any money off of it. Every bit of this extension is, and will stay free to use while I own it.
I'm currently working on the Firefox version of this extension. A version for Chrome and Edge will follow soon!
Several years ago, I worked with a very bright mind at BigMachines who came up with the idea for a tool called "Composure". It was a neat little side kick for any CPQ administrator. Over time that tool stopped being maintained, and faded away. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and decided to build something along those lines again.
I created this page with the goal to document as I go. Feel free to let me know what you do (or don't) like about this.
Download the latest Firefox version here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cpqdevbar/
Download the latest Chrome or Edge version here (*currently in alpha testing*): Chrome/Edge version of the CPQ Devbar
Click the link, then click the download button at the top on the Google Drive screen that pops up.
To get started, download the toolbar from the extension store. If set up correctly you should see a button like this in your browser. Click it to activate the extension. When active it will display purple, and when turned off it will display gray and white. It will only do something when you navigate to a page that it is intended to enhance. Read on for the full list of pages it enhances, and to learn more about the features.
Makes searching for BML Scripts easier. Adds the ability to filter down, and expand/collapse search results. See the search results you care about before digging in deeper.
Makes the action bar across admin pages always visible. Have too many fields to scroll through? That is no longer a pain point. Your action bar is now sticky and accessible. Simply ensure the toolbar is ON.
You don't like it being there? Or it is blocking something by being on top of it? No problem, just click "Un-dock this Action Strip".
Lets you get to the admin screen for any attribute right from the attribute on the front end. So for example - if you are reviewing a quote, and want to check out the modify tab for any field on that quote, simple hover over the field (with the CPQ Devbar turned on). You will see a purple gear appear next to the field. Click it to open the admin for that field on a new tab. See screenshots below.
Note: This feature is currently only enabled for Commerce Transaction Quote or Header level fields. Line and config level fields to be supported soon.
